Nowadays the transit time of ocean vessels are quite short. The transit time from Tokyo port to Long Beach port in California is about eleven days. For Asian destinations, it takes only several days. However, note that it takes a number of days for sea shipments to be cleared customs, being loaded into containers, then the containers to vessles. In addition, the ship is available normally on a weekly basis, thus making the ocean shipments take long time in the end.
